Curtis T Hines is a 1981 graduate of West Point, who ended his military career early due to a traumatic brain injury and other service connected disabilities while an active duty. His last rank held was Captain. After a 40 plus year struggle with four major mental illnesses, four VA ordered Baker Act hospitalizations, and surviving multiple suicide attempts, the author successfully completed drug and alcohol rehab in 2024, and remains sober today. Hines is now 100% Total and permanently disabled by both the VA and SSDI. A father and grandfather, he resides in Florida in full medical retirement. He has plans to publish further books regarding his military service, his beloved fellow veterans, and his favorite subject, Military History.
